Values

The Values of the Rangatahi Syndicate are the same to anyone else but we have to be a more responsible and good role model, especially the mediators they have to be the most responsible and caring people of the school so that the juniors wont be scared of us.

Every value that the school has the mediators and Rangatahi syndicate has to follow the rules every day of the week, and every week of the term for the whole year.

Freedom Friday

Every Friday the Rangatahi Syndicate has a chance to go out or stay inside and do an activity chosen by the teachers. The Rangatahi activities include : Going to the park and playing a muddy game, staying at school and make loom bands, Play board games and Technology days. Every week is different from the last week e.g we had done a technology day one week and then the next week we did crafts or line dancing. You can decide what you do if there are multiple choices. They are very fun to do and everyone enjoys doing it.

Sadly people can miss out by either getting in the Loss of Privilege book or being naughty in class. But luckily not many people miss out, Usually only one or two people.

Anti Bullying Day

Today is Anti-Bullying day, The History is Amazing for it...The original event was organized by David Shepherd and Travis Price of Berwick, Nova Scotia, who in 2007 bought and distributed 50 pink shirts after male ninth grade student Charles McNeill was bullied for wearing a pink shirt during the first day of school. In Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Premier Rodney MacDonald proclaimed the second Thursday of September "Stand Up Against Bullying Day" in recognition of these events.

In 2008, the then Premier of British Columbia, Gordon Campbell proclaimed February 27 to be the provincial anti-bullying day. It was then celebrated on February 25 in 2009. In 2009, Boys and Girls Clubs worked on pink T-shirts that say "Bullying Stops Here." and "Pink Shirt Day" for Anti-Bullying Day.

Hope you Help support it by wearing Pink!!!

Languages

For the past two Terms, The Rangatahi syndicate has been learning Cultural languages such as:

Japanese with Mrs Tesserero and Mr Tomita from Paraparaumu College,
 French with Mrs Burrows,
 Te Reo (Maori) with Rangi,
 Spanish with Mrs Gilmore and
  German with Mr Wynne.

In Each Language we learn something about that Cultural, Sometimes we get to try the Food that they eat at the end of the year or along the way.

The Kapa haka group went to the Paraparaumu college to perform for over one thousand people there. Everybody enjoyed the performance. All the juniors were nervous at first but the seniors helped them through the performance.
